Baishuitai-Dongba Mecca. Source of Naxi

Baishuitai is located at the foot of Haba Snow-covered Mountain and known as Immortal Heritage Field, as the largest sinter terrace in China. The rich calcium bicarbonate in water has been long dissolved and deposited to form the natural wonder of Baishuitai. It looks like a terrace with countless layers of water-filled ridges and hills. Baishuitai is not only a beautiful scenic area, but the birthplace of the Dongba culture of Naxi people. On the eighth day of the second month each year in lunar calendar, the people of Naxi hold a grand "Chaobaishui" event here.

Transportation:

1. One shuttle bus goes to Sanba Township, 100 km away from Shangri-La City, each morning and back to Shangri-La each afternoon, taking about 3 hours for one way, with reference fare of RMB 40.

2. One shuttle bus goes to Baishuitai, 170 km away from Lijiang City, and another to Lijiang each morning, taking about 4.5 hours for one way, with reference fare of RMB 100. Tips: The bus directly passes the core of the Tiger Leaping Gorge and parks (about 1 hour) there for sightseeing, so tourists shall also purchase tickets for the scenic area.
