Shangri-La Baishuitai Scenic Area

The Baishuitai is located at the foot of the Haba Snow Mountain and is known as the "Field Left by Immortals." It is the largest travertine terrace in China. Due to the high content of bicarbonate in the water, long-term dissolution and sedimentation have formed this natural wonder, which resembles layers of terraced fields, creating countless stacked jade-like hills filled with water. Baishuitai is not only picturesque but also the birthplace of the Naxi people's Dongba culture. Every year on the eighth day of the second lunar month, the Naxi people hold a grand "Morning Baishuitai" event here.
