To all citizens, tourists, and outdoor activity participants: In recent years, with the growing popularity of outdoor tourism and hiking activities, some individuals have been entering undeveloped areas without authorization to engage in related activities. This not only poses a serious threat to their own safety but also has adverse impacts on the ecological environment. To safeguard the ecological security and tourism order of Shangri-La City and effectively ensure the safety of people’s lives and property, in accordance with the "Tourism Law of the People’s Republic of China," the "Regulations on Nature Reserves of the People’s Republic of China," the "Notice from the Yunnan Provincial Forestry and Grassland Bureau, the Yunnan Provincial Department of Ecology and Environment, and the Yunnan Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism on Regulating Tourism Activities in Nature Conservation Areas," and other relevant laws, regulations, and guiding documents, we hereby issue the following notice prohibiting the conduct of tourism, adventure, and other similar activities in undeveloped and unopened areas:

Notice of Temporary Closure of the Shangri-La Tiger Leaping Gorge Scenic Area
The Tiger Leaping Gorge Scenic Area will suspend external operations starting at 2:00 p.m. on January 18, 2026, to carry out in-depth maintenance of facilities and equipment as well as a comprehensive inspection for potential safety hazards. The area will resume normal public access from January 19, 2026.
