Zhang Liang successfully set up the extreme slackline at the Tiger Leaping Gorge in Shangri-La while "walking across the Yangtze River".

On April 23, Zhang Liang and his team arrived at Tiger Leaping Gorge to begin preparations, and the final method for setting up the slackline was finally settled. The entire process of setting up the slackline took 4 hours, and data shows that this is also the shortest connection between Yulong Snow Mountain and Haba Snow Mountain. The majestic Tiger Leaping Gorge is famous both at home and abroad, where the Yangtze River is squeezed between the two great snow mountains, Yulong and Haba. The slackline is set up 16 meters above the narrowest part of the gorge, where the rapids flow through the sides of a giant rock that is only 30 meters wide, with an average water flow of 7,800 cubic meters per second. The enormous pressure causes the local water flow impact force to exceed 800 kilograms.

Shanghujiao Gorge, Tiger Leaping Gorge, Shangri-La

The Upper Tiger Leaping Gorge is the most turbulent section of the Tiger Leaping Gorge River, with a relatively wide view. In the middle of the river stands a giant rock, which is said to have been leaped over by a fierce tiger, hence the name Tiger Jumping Stone. The Tiger Jumping Stone lies across the current like a high waterfall standing before you, splitting the rushing water into two, with waves crashing thunderously, and the water and rocks colliding, resembling a roaring tiger that is deafening; the mist sprays onto your face, allowing you to feel the coolness of the water and the vitality of life.
