Tiger Leaping Gorge Scenic Area Temporary Closure Announcement
Dear travel agencies and friends of tourists: Due to the recent continuous rainfall, the meteorological risk of geological disasters such as landslides and mudslides along the Eastern Ring Road for tourism is quite high. To ensure travel safety, the Shangri-La Tiger Leaping Gorge Tourism Management Co., Ltd. in Diqing Prefecture has decided to suspend operations at the Tiger Leaping Gorge scenic area starting from 10:30 AM on August 6, 2023. The Tiger Leaping Gorge Company held the 2023 "Safety Production Month" launch meeting.

If you want to witness the spectacular scene of "raging waves rolling over layers of snow, giant waves piling up in myriad eddies," and encounter the surging "super flash flood," you can choose to visit from July to September. In the summer, the Tiger Leaping Gorge is first heard before it is seen; the sound of the waves is thunderous, echoing through the valley. The river water takes on a golden-red hue, and from the mountain top, it presents a strong visual impact, resembling a raging dragon charging forward with unstoppable momentum, as if thousands of troops are rushing down the gorge with the force of wind and waves, creating a magnificent and breathtaking sight!

On June 28, departing from the urban area of Shangri-La, after driving along the Xili Expressway and then taking the Eastern Ring Road for about an hour and a half, we arrived at the Tiger Leaping Gorge scenic area.
